Default How to Tell if Tranny's Going Bad

I apologize if this has already been discussed, I did not see it when looking through the topics.

I have a 96 automatic 3kGT with 105K miles which sat for about 6 mos until finally fixed. The tranny seemed to work fine, however now that she's up and running, the gears are not changing until between 3000 - 5000 RPM's. Then, regardless what speed I'm doing, the RPM's hover between 2500 - 3000 RPM's.

Is this a sign that the tranny's soon going to die ?

Thanks !
