Default car revs up and down when already engaged in overdrive...

If im cruising at 45mph or higher already in overdrive when the car drops down to a lower rpm of course to save gas mileage the car seems to rev up and down a couple of times before settling on an rpm. I replaced my tcu less than 6,000 miles ago,Also i do have an issue with the neutral safety switch where i cant start the car in park until i move the shift lever through all the gears and than back into park but i think these two are unrelated. Any ideas what the problem could be?

There's a very good chance that the two problems are connected.Read the thread "Does your atx suck". You also may need a end clutch.

^ Maybe right. From the ATX service manual, one of the causes that can prevent the car from shifting into 4th is a malfunction park/neutral switch, or damaged or disconnected wiring to it.
