Here is a link on how to do the end clutch replacement on DSM cars. The process is identical to doing it on ours. When I did mine I spent more time getting the mudguards out of the way than I did actually replacing the clutch.

Matt, My 91 is or was doing the same thing! Only difference is that I would be ODless untill I drove the car about 20 miles then I could engage the OD button and the car would shift right into OD and shift with no problems including slippage. Been driving it like this for about 2000 miles and now just one day OD is'nt there anymore! I posted my problem in another forum here but hav'nt had any luck, Good luck Brother, if you find out whats going on, plz let me know. Thanks Mike

ok here's what happens to these auto box's.....
the atx fluid is cooled in the same place the engine coolant is, the engines on these get mighty hot and offers little to no cooling for the atx fluid, the friction put on all the clutch plates within the gearbox amplifies this heat causing the oil to lose viscosity and aid the clutch plates into near destruction. there is a simple way to slow this process to an almost stop and prolong the life of the stock plates that could be now upto 17 years old, its called an external atx oil cooler. those with TT's go for FMIC's ATX owners should go for their upgrade which can look as sexy and have a purpose. those like the OP that are having problems now will possibly find a dirty brown substance in the sump of the ATX instead of a lovely red oil. this brown crap is the friction plates of the clutch packs that have burnt themselves out and fallen to the sump clogging the oil filter in the sump and pencil filter in the oil line at the top going to the rad. all this should be replaced and flushed through. the built in atx oil cooler in the rad should be made redundant and an after market cooler bought from IPT and fitted forward of the radiator of the car like an FMIC. all parts are replaceable from IPT and don't cost a fortune infact $85 for the cooler kit is very good ![]()
