Talking XMAS GIFT - Dual XDVD8281

Ok, my last thread ended up closed due to flaming.... Can we refrain from this please.

First: Merry Christmas
Second: Sarich5 - Sorry about that post.
Third: I got the Dual XDVD8281

If anyone has any input about this system it'll be greatly appreciated.
Also if anyone has any tricks on how to install this unit it'll also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,
Jason

from what i can tell this looks like a pretty nice unit...

here is what i found from googling...

http://www.dualav.com/i/product/manual/xdvd8281.pdf

page 7 of that pdf seems to have the wiring diagram which should pretty much be all you will need from a wiring/install standpoint. as long as you can crimp some wires, you'll be good to go installing car stereos in a 3000gt is pretty much as easy as it gets (since you don't have to take the whole freaking dash apart on our cars)

if you have more questions, feel free to post em up. let us know how you like the unit as well...

Hey. Ok I installed it myself... since the bastards at the car place don't take care of cars... I got the dual not the pioneer.

They both look just as good and my parents were able to save cash. So it was another plus.

I bypassed the parking brake restriction and the dvd plays with a beautiful screen.
Plus I don't get the cd spining feedback in the speakers that I got with the metrik's stereo.

Only thing is... I need to replace my tweeters... they're cracking really bad.

just out of curiosity, what did you have to do in order to bypass the parking brake restriction?

I grounded the parking brake wire then inserted a dvd and with the remote entered 26604.
This is for dual only though. Pluis its supposed to be a permanent fix.

I installed the flip out dual dvd player in my boss' durango. I had to look up the code to bypass the parking brake too. I just did a search online and it came up with a bunch of hits. You put in the dvd until you hear audio, push stop on the remote twice. Enter the code and hit enter. The blue screen disapeared and now it plays video all the time.
