Default voltage drop... help

stock sound except for deck. i have voltage drop so bad the lights dim and the deck shuts off and goes back on. With the car running with the car off, same thing but it takes more accesories with the car on. I put in a new battery and it didnt help.

Only thing i can think is i got a loose connection somewhere, but where?

follow a wiring diagram and see where the power is comin from then check if there are any shorts to ground.

i got no sparks when i pulled the old battery off and put a new one in. so i dont think its a short to ground. maybe a loose ground. i was hoping someone had this problem and could pinpoint it so i dont hafta go through the whole car.

how many watts is the deck?
i had an alpine 60x4 and it did that too i gave it its own power wire. or replace the old speakers becuase that might just be too much power for them so the deck is saving them.

This is not true. I had a similar deck shutting off problem and have confirmed from multiple car audio sources that the deck will NOT shut down if the speakers are overwhelmed, merely stop playing.

Does your car have trouble starting? If it does, then you have a faulty ground. I tried starting my car with my deck in with no ground and it struggled to start.

My friend had bad problems with his lights dimming right before his alternator/battery went. You might want to check the output at the alternator with a voltmeter and see what its getting. I'm not a pro but this is what I remember from what I've done so I hope it helps.

if anyone cares i fixed it. I ran a new lead to it straight from the battery. Apparently it normally comes out of the 3rd fuse box, basicallly a whole bunch of loads and 30ft of wire thats to small. Unless theres a loose connection in there somwhere.

My lights still dim a little bit when my subs pull harder. I'm guessing its from voltage drop. Could you explain what you did a little more in detail?
