Default Subwoofers?

What is the best way to go considering a normal box won't fit in my car? They always sit to tall. And I have heard that custom boxes can be wicked expensive.

i have this one. came with the car when i bought it. pritty sure they are up on eaby quite often.
works pritty good. had a problem with it ratteling awhile after i got the car. so i just used some sillicone adhesive/sealeant around the edges of the box and screw holes.
if i had money/time id buy/make a nice plexi glass one that sits flat back there but what can ya do

Well I have my 6 CD changer located right where that box goes. So I would like to find something a little different.

that's a picture of the box that i used to have. but, i'm thinking that the best way to go is custom (mine was i think 200 or 250 to have built, but they did a great job. also, some people just set the box in their back seats, or just remove the backseats all together and put a big box (like you're talking about) back there.

shallow mounting subs will also help. check out jl w1's. i know those are very shallow mounting subs and should give you lots of room. and, go ahead and check out the car audio of the boards too.

good luck
