Default speaker question

i installed a DEH-P7800MP with the CD-IB100II(ipod adapter)..i used the same hook up the auto shops use..the headunit sounds great..but my JBL gto dash speakers are dead.i took them out and tested em on a old radio..and they work fine..but not in the car..i double check my wiring..and its all fine..so what would be my issue here..thanks

gotta bypass amp...i reccomend just getting new speakers and getting a set of components, they will come with a new cross over, wire the cross over directly to the new headunit and go from there, it will sound better as well....just use some ABS plastic to make the new tweeters fit in the factory location for what you have now...recomendations would be POLK, INFINITY or ALPINE, the new infinitys are a 2 ohm speaker and will draw better power off your deck, as well as the sensitivity is higher so they will sound better if you dont plan on running an amp, if you plan on amping the setup then i would say POLK MOMO series speakers or ALPINE type R's get that all setup then you'll be cookin with fire....

Make sure the amp under the seat is unplugged. Then jumper the dash speakers to the door speakers at the amp plug. You will see pairs of wires on the amp plug the same color the thinner are the dash the thicker are the door. Hook the thinner ones to the thicker ones of the same colors.

Because the dash speakers are dead. I'm assuming a mitah kit was not used and the radio plug was connected to the new hu.

OR You can run new wires to the dash speakers from the door speaker wires on radio plug.

The non infinity systems have 4 channels because they generally jumper the dash and the door speakers wires about a foot up from the radio plug

The infinity system has 6 channels connections are only available for the dash speakers at the amp plug and not the radio plug.

So when you used the radio plug for the aftermarket install you lost the dash speakers because there's no connection to them right there.
