Default The running of the power wire.

I have looked an searched and stared at my care for 2 long to admit trying to figure out the best way to run the power wire for my amp install. I want to use the hole right behind the battery. BUT idk what/how to go about it after that.

I know it is simple but from start to finish what is the best way to run a power wire from the battery to the factory amp location? Full description would be great pictures would be amazing.(and i dont mean pics of the hole behind the battery :P)

(I know it has been said b4 but my search abilities must be REALLY bad lol)

Thanks.

Get a coat hanger, perferably a stronger one (metal of course) and use it as a fish to poke through the hole behind the battery. Once you get poke it through, it will have to drop almost straight down, to get below the underdash. You will want to pull the cover off from underneith the dash so you can reach up there and feel by the firewall. Depending on how long your arms are and granted you don't have gorilla arms you should be able to reach up and almost feel where you've poked the hanger through. Once you get past the firewall it's cake from there. You will want to take off your seal panel so you can pull up the carpet and continue to run it to where ever you're going too (mine is under my passenger front seat).

Things to remember:
1.) Cut about 2-3in of the wire insulation (just make a slit so you can peel it back and shove the hanger inside it.
2.) Make sure you get some good 3M electrical tape to tape the power wire (very tightly) to the end of the coat hanger.
3.) Soap up the tape and the end of the power cable (after it's all taped up obviously) so it will help it slide through the grommet.
4.) It may take you a couple tries if you pull on it depending if you pull to hard or the grommet is being stubborn, just be patient, and another helper always makes this job easier (one to feed the wire, one to help guide and pull it).

Hope this helps, I do it for a living so if you have any other questions just post up and I'll be happy to answer them.

Remove the battery and use a metal coat hanger to push the power wire through the grommet that's behind the PS strut tower. You next have two options, you can either run the wire along the PS door sill, under the rear seat cushion and to the trunk. Or you can run the wire to the center council and to the trunk on the drive-shaft hump. Both ways will work just As well as the other, just keep in mind to keep the power wire away from any other power wire. If this isn't done you could get interference through the subs.

Don't forget to put a fuse on that line close to the battery, if that wire ever shorts out somewhere along the way in the car, you will have a nice car fire.
If you already know this and did it, then disregard my safety note.

^^^^^^ Great explanation!

Jojo and I used this method last year in running a 0 gauge wire into the yellow car. He fed the wire through the engine compartment, and I was underneath the glove compartment pulling the wire inside. It wasn't easy, but doable. We ran the wire along the PS door sill.
