A friend of mine got it by calling the mitsubishi cust. service hotline. Probably need to have your VIN # handy.

It's been awhile but when I first needed the code for my system, didn't get it from the guy I bought the car from, I went to the dealer and he just looked up under the dash on the driver's side. It was written on a tag under there. I haven't looked personally but that's all he did to recover mine. Hope this helps.
