Can someone tell me where to find the wiring diagram for a 1992 and 1997 3000GT? The radio came out of a 97 (infinity sound) and I want to install it in my 92.
Also, all I pulled out was the radio and cut the harness that goes to the back. Will I need anything else for this radio to work?
I did almost the same thing. Grabbed the radio, CD changer, amp and speakers. Go to 3SX and download the service manual.
Yeah, good luck with that schematic.. It's a bear to read, color codes take a while to figure out... I wish you luck.
On a side note, mine powered up today just plugging it in the stock harness. No sound, but I believe it's because I need to hook up the amp.

I don't see anywhere on there where you can download a wiring diagram. I see where you can buy a manual.
These cars came in amped and unamped versions. I dont know all the details of what works and what doesnt. You may need to do some more reading before you can make it work right.
Well, I went back to the car I got the radio out of and it did have an amp plugged up to it.
I wonder if this will work without the amp. Everything appears to be ok so far. Lights come on and it powers on, but it is asking for the code. Won't know until I get the code and verify it all works.
A friendly dealer can look up the code for you using the serial number off the back of the radio. An unfriendly one will make you show up with a title for proof of ownership. Kinda dumb for a 15 YO car that nobody is going to steal anyway!
I called the dealer Thursday, and he gave me the code. I'm pretty sure they will do it. If not, I'll tell you who to call. Agreed Speedy. I can't imagine anyone bragging that they just scored a cassette deck.. besides some of us enthusiasts that is.
LOL. I am calling the dealership this morning to see if they will. One guy was kinda giving me a hard time when I needed the code on my eclipse radio. He kept telling me it should be in a radio booklet and why don't I have it.
