JVC decks aren't bad, good for the price.
As far as speakers go I'm not a fan of Rockfords at all, especially for speakers. If you're looking for something decent without spending too much I would go with Infinity reference series or Polk DB series speakers. Both produce great sound, but a little bit different sound. The Infinitys are better for a wide range of sound, the Polks aren't quite as good in the lows and mids, but have crisper highs IMO. And 2 way speakers have the speaker with 1 small tweater, 3 way have 2 tweaters, etc etc. Generally most speakers are 2 way for 6 1/2" and 3 for 6x9s. And you will find out that with car audio, almost everything is personal preference. My advice would be to go into a Circuit City and a Best Buy, listen to the stuff there, find out what you like, and either buy it there or order it online. Between those two stores you can check out most of the major brands on the market. CCity has Polk, Eclipse, MTX, and Kicker, Best Buy has Infinity, Alpine, and a few others. |

If you're going with an unamplified system I would go with a pair of 6020CS'. Those are the reference series components. With minor modifications you can replace the stock tweaters with the ones in the components. Go with 9623Is in the rear.

Thats the setup I was going to do. I don't want an amplifer or anything like that just replacing the stock speakers. However on crutchfield it says they will not fit, does that mean I have to make modifications if so how hard will it be? My experience with car audio ends at replacing the front door speakers with OEM ones.
