For fun I decided to build my fourth carpc using the new Intel Atom 4 Watt processor 1.6 Ghz (motherboard D945GCLF), and it's working out really well. Processor usage is 9-12% with Road Runner, MP3 music playing, OBDI Hand Held Halo logger, Gatso Hunter, iGuidance GPS. I'm using a special version of Windows XP called TinyXP which is a stripped down version, got everything working except my USB Infrared receiver, might work again if I just reinstall normal Windows XP.
Processor is about 30C cooler than the Celeron 220 processor. So yeah, the Atom processor works great for a carpc.

Hey Wombat is your steering wheel button projection dead?

I'm using my own OBDI cable and purchased Hand Held Halo software -- works really nice for a carpc environment.

Why hasn't anyone tried using the Thermaltake 7" touch screen? It would be a very easy install.
