The only subs ive heard are kicker cvx's. Theyre kinda expensive, but sound good as hell

Well our cars are hatchbacks so you always get more bang for your buck out of a sub.

Overall, for price, quality and tightness of sound, the JL 10W6V2 is excellent.

MB Quart. All the way.

I had the 12" version of this: MB Quart DWG 254 Subwoofers

Sound quality .. amazing. That thing in a sealed box driven by 200 watts pushed more air than my friend's dual 12" JLB somethings in a ported box with 1000watts behind them. And sounded 10000000000000000x cleaner.

do any of you fill your boxes wit like cotton or anything? i see some people fill them with stuff. not sure. also i am seriously considering ordering the mb quart today. looks really good. btw where do you have yours that it is a 12" also what amp are you using. i had a cadence amp before this and it was amazing. never even got warm to touch 750rms at 1ohm.

i had two 10" kickers in this car already in a box i made for behind the back seats. was way too small like 1.0 cuft for both subs and they didnt sound good. they def had potential but the location wasnt right. i sold them but they were great subs. kicker cvr w/ dvc.

Oops, here's the 10" MB Quart DWG 254 Subwoofers

I had it banging around my gutted trunk for a while. My amp blew and I removed it and sold it.

It was a normal square box, sealed, I bought it like that but I believe it had cotton in it. Most sealed boxes do, afaik.

no i was asking, you said you had a 12", where did you have it. i just kinda figured 12" was too big so thats why said 8-10" im not against getting a 12" sub if its going to fit

Sealed boxes benefit from being stuffed with fiberfill which is found at fabric stores. The general rule of thumb is to add 1lb fiberfill per cubic foot of box space. It basically makes the sub think it's in a bigger box than it actually is, lowering the Q factor and making the bass deeper.

As for which sub to chose... I like to venture into the DIY audio realm for high quality drivers because of there lower price and excellent quality. Basically your not paying for a name.

Parts Express:Tang Band W8-740P 8" Subwoofer

I've had one of these in my trunk and many people thought I had several tens. SQ, when properly installed, is also unreal.

I have a 12" Kicker L7 mounted in the rear driver's side corner of the trunk.... it stuck out alittle. well my whole trunk space was covered with my amps and capaciter. but it sounded very clear. and could blow out my ear drums if I wanted it too.
