Default Installed a new head unit and ran into a few problems...

I recently installed a Kenwood DDX512 into my '93 SL, and ran into a few problems after installation.

The first problem is that the power antenna does not go up any more. No clue why that is, I'm assuming I took something out that I was supposed to leave in.

The second problem was it doesn't seem to have a constant power supply. Every time the car is shut off, the memory of the unit is wiped. Which wire provides a constant power supply?

And just so you guys know what I was using to install this, I pulled a wire list off of installdr.com.

Did you use a wiring harness or did you cut/splice each wire seperately?

Your headunit should have a hole in the back to put the power antenna plug into, if it doesn't, then it doesn't. It's a black 90 degree bend type of plug.

If you cut each wire individually, you may need to run a wire to the battery.

I don't know why more people don't spend the $5 to get a harness. Not saying you didn't.
