Nope, Actually, That would be two 4 ohm speakers in parallel. Resulting in a 2 ohm load increasing the available wattage close to 100.

They are connected in parallel that 100 watts is available to both speakers. I would estimate the actual wattage in that configuration at 90 watts for this amp.

On a side note: The car has component speakers and a component crossover. The M661 crossover is designed for one input and three potential outputs. Right now the dash tweeters are connected to it and not the doors. That is the reason the two are connected in parallel at the amp. Normally just one output goes to the crossover then to the tweeter and one to the door from the crossover. That would eliminate the parallel connection at the amp if desired. Those components would then have 50w available to each if connected to the crossover.

Nice job, Dave. I know this one has been in the works for awhile and I'm sure you're glad to finally be done. I KNOW it sounds great.

The Peripheral Mita... does that plug into the back of the head unit or at the DIN cable connector under the seat? And where did you get those sexy 90degree RCA's?

Thanks for all the good info.

Gary,

As you know It took awhile to finally decide to put an amp in I went back and forth on this alot. Plus the potential of not doing the something to Deb's car. So I upgraded the speakers in Deb's car and got me an amp! At least she wants no part of a supercharger or turbo conversion! I call that fair.

The Mita... can be used either way. So you could use an aftermarket HU with line outs on an infinity system's amp if the aftermarket HU output is similar to the infinity amp normal input or throw a line output adaptor in the circuit. The reason being the stock infinity amp has no gain control. A couple of pots would work for a gain control too!

But in this instance the Mita... is used at the aftermarket amp. If you want some of those sexy RCA's Paypal $3.85 (shipping) to my email address and I'll send em out to you.
