Take your time bro... you will be very lucky to fit it all the first time. I've had my dash/aem in and out quite a few times... it happens.

I want to see this at NG!!
VR4ever,
Can you post some pics of how you have your pc screen installed and used with the AEM ems?
Thanks!

Looks like a fun project. I use to have one in my SL. I just put my website back up, I'll be changing it and buying a domain sometime w/in the next week. Check it out though, I have lots of pics and a wiring diagram of my carpc.

Here are some pics:

there are a lot more on the website.

I too put mine where a trunk tray was.

Totally awesome!
I have an old laptop hanging around the house that I never use...I need to figure out how to make it work with my car.

lol fastfalcon. I didnt copy you I swear.

One thing though. I'd like to know more about your interface. I've been killing myself trying to get my interface to control a music player. Does yours just load the program and you control it from the program or does your interface actually control it?

It is media engine. I installed the wrong skin on it though, so it looks wierd. I installed the 800x600 one instead of hte 640 x 480 or something like that. I had it fixed but never took any more pics.

Media engine is no longer being updated though so it's kinda out of date. My roomate is using FrodoPlayer and I like that a lot better. Found it at www.mp3car.com It's really good because when you turn it on and it goes to your music it keeps the volume how you had it last, but it also gradually turns it up to that point. And there are some gps programs that work really good with it. - charlie

Subscribed, nice thread. I have been thinking about the best way to do my carpc for a year now. Originally I was going to just get an alpine or pioneer flush mount lcd so I could have a radio, and have the carpc hooked up on the aux input or something. I would have gone lilliput, but I listen to the radio a lot. Now, above I see the radio as an option in the menu. How does that work?

Or you can simply get a radio card for your computer; PCI or USB

I'm gonna take lots of pics this weekend and update my site, I just got a triple cianci pillar and matching passenger pillar for $135 shipped

I used the MSI Mega 651 computer in my car. Has a built in radio tuner. This is it:

I paid $125 shipped for it a while ago though, found it on pricewatch for cheap.
