Default Am I making the right choice?

So I posted earlier on question about an audio system for the car. I have a 1997 SOHC 3000gt with no audio system of any kind, I bought it used with a Pioneer 2400f receiver and stock speakers, and boy are the stock speakers horrible. I am very new at this, and just learned what a pre-out was, so go easy on me.
With the help of a friend who knows what he's talking about, i've narrowed down my choices for speakers.

I was considering 6.5 inch speakers for the front speakers with the speaker brackets to help them fit in the 6.75 inch holes, mainly these Pioneer TS-A1683R ones:
Pioneer TS-A1683R Car Speakers at Onlinecarstereo.com

They are 4-way and have max output of 220watts, but i learned that you can put speakers into a 2-way system and its ok, is that correct?

For the rears 6x9s, was considering the Pioneer TS-A6963R, they're 3-way with max output of 270 watts:

For the headunit, found a Pioneer Cd receiver with usb, aux, and 3 sets of pre-outs (or 3 pairs), the Pioneer Pioneer DEH-P5100UB:

For the last part, i have to buy an amp ofcourse, but i am having a hard time finding the right one mainly because i don't know what to look for. Should i get an amp with 2 channels for just the rear 6x9s or go for a multi channel amp incase i install a sub sometime further down the line?

Found this Jensen 760 watt mosfet amp with 4 channels. Does this sound like the appropriate thing to be getting for the setup i have so far?

I know this is a big write up, but i've been trying to do a lot of research on my own and trying to figure things out. Any help on this thread would be highly appreciated by me, thanks in advance. Dave57 helped me in the earlier thread i made, help me out again DAVE!!!!

Don't go with 4-way speakers. Go with a 2-way or a component setup (6.5" woofer and a separate tweeter) and a 2 way 6x9 in the rear or a mid base driver w/out a tweeter in the rear. You also don't have to worry about adapting the speaker, it will fit in the plastic bracket. Only thing you should do is cut the back cup out of the plastic bracket so you have better air flow for the speaker.

The head unit and amp seem to be ok to me.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply. Did a little more research from what you said. I found these pair of 6x9s, and everyone on these forums seems to love Infinity speakers, so i looked at these. These are the Infinity Infinity Reference 9622i speakers, 2-way 300w with 100w rms.

Then i looked at these Pioneer Pioneer TS-A1782R, 6-3/4 inch speakers, 2 way 280 watts.

As for the amp, i thought i'd juice it up incase i want to add a sub later on down the line.
The Crunch P1400.4 looked nice.

Once again, i greatly appreciate the input, thanks!

yeah its not enough to unscrew them.. those b*tches are glued on there in some way, but my new speakers are deeper than stocks and the airflow cup is in the way now... time to put my plying techniques into some good use lol

Did some more research, and found out that the earlier equip i had listed wouldn't work all that well for the money.

Going to buy the Rockford Fosgate T1692C, rms 100 watts x 2 @ 4 ohms, 6x9 speakers. They are 2-way.
Rockford Fosgate T1692C Car Speakers at Onlinecarstereo.com

For the front speakers, thinking the Rockford Fosgate Punch P162C, which is 50 watts rms x 2 @ 4 ohms, 2 way 6.5 inch speakers.
Rockford Fosgate Punch P162C Car Speakers at Onlinecarstereo.com
Or the Infinity Reference 6032si, which is 50 watts rms x 2 @ 4 ohms, 2 way 6.5 inch speakers.
Infinity Reference 6032si 6-1/2" Speakers Car Speakers Car Audio Car Audio, Video, & GPS Navigation - Sonic Electronix

All right, with the help of a friend, decided not to go with the jensen amp. Going with the Pioneer GM-5400T, which is 125 watts RMS x 2 @ 4 ohms, 2 channel amp. Since the rear speakers are going to be 100 watt rms, i think the pioneer amp is a better fit. Finally for the wiring, decided since the front speakers are only 50 watt rms, going to just use the head unit to power up the front 2 speakers and going to use the amp to power up the 2 rear 100 watt rms speakers. Sound ok?

What I can also do is, buy INFINITY REFERENCE 475A, its a 1400 watt amplifier, 75 watts x 4 @ 4 ohms. From the speakers i've listed above, the total rms from the 2 rears is 200 watts, and from the front 2 is 100 watts rms. So if the amp can handle 75 watts rms x 4 @ 4 ohms, it should be able to handle the 300 watts total rms from the 4 speakers.

I know i keep changing my mind, but like i said, im trying very hard to understand this car audio stuff. I think the infinity 6.5 inch speakers with the Rockford Fosgate 6x9s, and the infinity 4 channel amp would be a good combo. Lemme know what you think, please!

I would go with a 4 ch amp and 2 ohm speakers. I'll post some options. Jl also makes a great 4ch and 5ch (sub) amp

Thanks a lot again Dave for the reply. I was looking at those Infinity Reference 6022si shallow mount 6-1/2s, and those Infinity Reference 9622i look nice for 6x9s as well. They are listed as 4 ohms on sonic, but i've checked other listings and they are in reality 2 ohms, it must be a typo on sonic. If im using 2 ohm impedence, that means the Infinity reference 475 amp can do 90 x 4 @ 2 ohms rms, so i should have plenty of power like you said, who knows, maybe even add in a sub later on. Infinity 6.5 inches, Infinity 6x9s, and Infinity amp, sounds like it was a match made in heaven.

Thanks a ton for the suggestions again guys, and thanks a lot for the help Dave.
