I took out my rear seats and plan to make a little custom fiberglass mount right where the seat belts used to be for some smaller speakers, maybe 4". Without rear seats you can be creative as you want with the audio.
The stock head unit will be able to power them, but most likely will sound like crap with them at a decent volume. I would change the deck itself, it not only makes a world of difference in sound quality, but will give you much more flexibility with different setups. |

I have a Pioneer hd, though I wish I had a double din. It's all real easy to install on your own, given though that you have the right adapters for the car. My pioneer didnt need them just went straight in with the old wires. I paid 200 for it, and a good nav/double din should be in the 600 range brand new.

i put in a pioneer 7500... got it for 1600... was 2200 i think, but i took the last one. no navi, but has everything else i could ever want. i can interface it with a laptop, and i have cameras on the car that go into it. navi was another 1500 at the time, im sure their less now... but the way i see it, ive drive across the US twice, used a 20$ map both times. never got to lost... why bother with navi?
good luck. pioneer has some nice double dins out. -jesse |

I love it, though circuit city charged me up the ass for all of the adapters. I didn't mind though I wanted it done right and it was the first thing I ever did with my car installation wise. It supports 4 speakers though so with 6 an amp will be a must. I've never installed a navi so I don't know how it is, but I would think it would be just as easy because the screen and all that is self contained. |
