dont you just use the stock iso-mount brackets? drill new holes if they don't line up correctly.

I installed the Z1 a few months ago and used the stock brackets. Nothing additional was needed. Fit flush and looks like it always belonged there. BTW the Z1 is a must have.....

Do you have any pics of the Z1 in your 3s? Everybody should see this unit. It is way too cool. I cant wait to get mine. I would love to see one in the car. Do you know what kit you used if any? Last question.... Do you have trouble with the front display sliding down and hitting your console?

We've been PM'ing each other all week and wanted to post here so everyone can benefit from my experience with the Z1. No problems with the screen touching anything, it fits perfect and just make sure you use the supplied Z1 bezel in addition to the stock Mitsu bezel. I suggest having a professional install, although everything is a simple plug and play, it's always prudent to have someone to fall back on when something goes wrong. Nothing like a good warranty. Second, all the wiring on the Z1 must be connected exactly as Pioneer states in order for the "trick" to work. The VSS-velocity speed sensor - must be hooked up. This allows the GPS to function properly and maintain course in case you go through, let's say the Midtown tunnel, once you lose GPS signal, the VSS and computer work together to maintain real time direction. The sad part of the Z1 is that you cannot change destination while driving, cannot watch DVD's and a lot of the functions get locked out. This of course for safety reasons, which I truly agree with. However, for the diligent folks out there who don't fidget while speeding.....Here is the trick to unlock the Z1 and utilize ALL FUNCTIONS while driving. Ensure your e-brake is disengaged, start your vehicle, when the Z1 screen goes black and begins start up, flash your lights on and off three times. That's it. However, if you rengage your ebrake, you will be locked out. It took me a few attempts to get the timing right, but it works. Now this trick is for the pre-July models. Post July models have a different trick which I have not familiarized my self with. For detailed information, go to avic411.com. All of the neat tricks and tips are there, even changing the Z1 screensaver. There is also a little gadget that is being sold that will perform the unlock procedure for you. I believe "Ducatiboy" on that forum sells it. I haven't purchased it....yet. Hope this helps everyone with the Z1. It is a great investment and a lot of fun.

Awesome unit! Does your Z1 keep your steering controls active? What about the stock 6 CD changer? Are you using the stock amp and speakers? May be time for an early Xmas at Thanksgiving...
