190K+ / 15 years and still looking good / going strong because of preventative maintenance. Thought I would start a thread and compile / summarize good PM tips from users.
Note: What got me thinking about this is that I found two rust spots on my car that might have been prevented with better PM. (Drivers side rear panel where it meets the bumper. Another rust spot on the inside lip of the rear hatch. I believe both of these could have been prevented with better wax / attention.)

On the door hinges, at the garage here, we do that as part of an oil/lube job. On rust... lot of times theres nothing you can do to prevent it. It doesn't go through fron the outside. It get moisture underneathe, however if it start you can hit it oil/wd40 , I mean if it bubbles poke a hole and hit it with some oil. Also I take you mean on the brakes, the sliders or whatevfer these car use, so the calipers dont get stuck and wear more on one side.

RUST
I noticed the rust on another members car and took a close look at my car and saw the same rust spot.
I think it could have been avoided if the spot had been srprayed with WD 40 from the inside / outside and waxed 2X more than the rest of the car.
I hope you don't have rust on your rear deck lip as well....
ROUTINE SERVICE / ADDITIONAL PM
Beginning to think that it would make more sense to include routine maintenance by mileage (3K / 15K / 30K / 60K) and then organize additional PM by time (monthly / quarterly / annually)
