Default ignorant....ouch!

I must agree.......though not ignorant! an underdrive with a harmonic balancer would be better for both worlds...please state one case where somebody lost a motor due to this mod.....I wont hold my breath.....you have a good point and theory it is rock solid....in reality every NA that is running high HP's has this and nobody has claimed premature worn bearings or heavy vibration.....good point but a little harsh....I think buschur makes them for 350.00....I haven't found them yet but they are out there...I think ultimately a cilicone filled (not the boobs gents) balancer with underdrive would be even better........

I did a dyno with the downpipe I made and learned alot about HP math....if you added 5 mods that give 5hp each you wont have 25 hp gain with all 5..........if think you will your an idiot.

The NA exhaust...on mine anyway.....has a main cat (very restrictive) a resonator (small muffler) and a 30 pound mufler...again very restrictive.......get a 2.5 high flow....and go straight to a good muffler....at least 25 hp total.

I went to the track and a fellow member had the "EXACT" car as me with ignition, flywheel and exhaust and he was clocking 14.9 at the end of the day I was 1.2 slower...do the math...that motor comes out in winter...16.1 is bullshit......bottom line I think with this list of mods a very high 13 could be hit.... maybe 13.9999999999999999 but still a 13

here is my opinion

SAFC
360's
port matched TB
Lifter
K&N
Front pipe...mine of course
High flow or test pipe
2.5 back
Cam gears
UD pully...for us idiots
re-ground cams
93 mm pistons
accel coil upgrade
magnecores
fidenza flywheel ...stage 3

you will see.........you will see

I for one wont do NOS due to the fact I have 2 car seats and a diaper bag to haul around

thanks for starting the thread yogurt.....

green rt....don't ask, I have other things in the works.....better things.....you will see can you say B&M?...we sure do have a lot of room behind that rear head huh? as soon as I figure out how to drive this vein I will be the bomb......eeeeeeeueuuuuuueueueueueueueueeeee KABOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know the turbo conversion has been spoken of many times but what would it entail (cost and time)? I have spent a lot of time searching but I keep coming up dry.
sorry for the barrage (sp?) of questions
perhaps some answers?

The easiest time to put on the UDP is when the 60K tune-up is being done because that TBelt and all the other belts will be off also. To take the OEM Crankshaft pulley off you have to get the "special tool" from Mitsu that holds it in place while you try and break the nut loose that holds it on. When you put on the new one the bolt that holds it on must be tightened to 130-137 Lb. Ft. of Torque.

Very good list YOGURT!, but here is what I plan to do(in order):

Copper Racing Spark Plugs w/ Magnecor Wires - 150
Short Throw Shifter - 100
Stillen Intake - 170
DN Performance Intake Pipe - 200
3sx Crank Pulley w/ Belt - 200
3sx/ek2 Downpipe - 310
2.5" High Flow Cat - 100
2.5" Custom Cat-Back Exhaust - 500
RPS Sport Sprung Clutch w/ Fidanza Flywheel - 770

Total - $2500

I know the list is small but these are the basics and other mods in the future will branch off from this list, plus I can do all of these mods by myself. Im going with the 3sx crank pulley because it won't under-drive my stereo or lights.

Default my plans

i dunno, but i'm going to try and make sure i get the most out of my mods... if you work up your driving skills to the best they can be, then every mod will give you the maximum help it can give you. i have my intake mods done, and i just got all my brake parts installed...so right now, i plan on doing many 1/4 runs, and testing out my best launches. after that, the underdrive pulley and some aesthetic mods. i'm sure no one cares about what i plan to do, but i think it's the best idea to just get as fast as you can w/o a lot of mods. if you suck at driving, mods will only yield a small improvement and you'll find yourself wasting money only to be outdone by a better driver with less shit done to their car... just my opinions

alright. ek2. youre the man, and may i add, very wise at that.
fuckin whos this doof? cryin "bleh.... underdrive pullies are bad... blah... " beat it geek, the slow kids stay at club si.com. this list is if ya wanna get your non turbo to go fast. not what doofie wants you to do with your non turbo. you aint gonna find one car that has lost a motor OR bearings to an underdrive pulley. this holds true for mustangs as well. ive never heard of such garbage.
high HIGH horsepower motors are ones that "require" harmonic dampening. not a measly 303hp at the crank... ( this is what my hp comes out to be with the nitro sprayin and the car weighin 3250, using a hp calculator)
so once again. maybe YOU should do some research before you post? OR you can eat my ass. as its full of corn and peanuts.
trust me dood, ive done my homework, and kevin shapells website kept me away from the UDP apon fear of "breaking my bearings" bleh. bullshit. it hasnt happened yet. and im sorry but i refuse to loose to civics and bullshit garbage cars of that nature, so i bought it, let me tell you im kickin my self in the ass for not buying it sooner. my advice to you kids out there in tv land. get yourself the 3sx one. it doesnt underdrive as much so you dont get that nasty voltage drop at idle. matt monett must be wrong. hes got it on both his record breaking cars, and i must be the fool too.. oh thats right i built a 14.0 second na. by the way thats good for number 2 nationaly.i must be a real fucking idiot. BLOW ME.

Talking ROTFLMAO

Oh man I knew that was comming........I forget the word for it but it's something like "static ball slapping" or "Rodshakingmynuts" somebody knows this ...the term for the vibration that the balancer takes out......either way Yogurt you jar is full of two ball solution

OT- you should drink it because you never got back to me about your pipe.........HOMO! "No sale for you" in the tone of the soup nazi...

I for one see no reason we couldn't build our NA motors like the other guys with 2 more pistons and a block that points the right way in the compartment......Think about it now......11:1 93mm's
port and polish, big ignition and coil upgrades.....timming adjustability in the form of cam gears and reground cams....balance rotating assembly to the nats ass of a gram. shot peen those rods and trim out all the oil holes for better flow on the crank and stuff.......a high volume oil pump.....bigger injectors...remeber when we called the carbs? some kind of forced induction...I am convinced this motor will rock at 11:1 with 4lbs of intake boost....how the #@%$ do we get that I ask you?
...........Green R/T will rip me for this...but even headers if I ever get off my ass and focus onsomething long enough to finish it sorry R/T........the whole philosophy behind this motor is to increase efficency......oil drainage for another.....smooth out the internal casted surfases so oil flows down to the pan faster and cleaner...alot of v8 builders do this for high rpm motors...it keeps the oil cleaner and no pools of build up in small pockets of casted iron....no power increase but certainly cleaner oil and better drain..........and what about port and polish...did they really investment cast a near perfect mold for our engines....doubt it.....that would help out too.

I could on forever but why? I am an idiot too....

bobk.
headin for the 13's

Default just wanted to add this.......

I hate the fact I sold my UDP.....I read all the horor stories on the stealth316 site and proptly bailed on the nice little red number with the gator belts.....GOD DAMN I WAS AN IDIOT> eeeeeiiiiiiddeeeeeoooooooooooot...pounding my head on the keyboard........

oh well...they have more for sale and I got it on a deal so I didn't really lose out that bad.........when the block comes in next month it is on my list...as well as a lot of machine work that may or maynot add power...but on thing for sure....it will be in my signature and I will be able to say you aint got it.......
