How much louder are the after market exhaust than the stock? I know usually on a na car it tends to be much louder than a turbo? On my 300zx na with hks cat back it is crazy loud inside the car. I just dont want my 3s like the z. Which in my view the 3s is a much better car!!!

I would say that adding headers and a high flow cat is not any louder than stock. It just changes to the tone. It is amazingly quiet. I have a 24VDOHC non turbo.

Don't know. I bought my cold air intake from 3SX Performance.

you need to keep a high flow cat or resonators to get rid of the ricey backpopping sound

ive just purchsed my 91 sl. its in pretty low condition right now, but ive started the replacements needed before the mods. i put new spark plugs and spark plug cables on and my fuel filter is brand new. i had to get a new clutch and clutch line, so im tight on money. my timing belt seems to be working on key, but id still like to replace it. the timing belt and water pump and tensioner for the timing belt is replaced for around $900 at the local shop, but im trying to find estimates for lower prices. any suggestions?

ebay intake will work fine and it saves alot of money and does the same thing. I dont see why the strut bars wouldnt work as long as they line up right...

found on the first page...

INTAKE: This modification is good for about 1hp to the ground, BUT it helps with other mods. The most cost effective method is to get one off Ebay, Do not pay 180 bucks like many others do for the K&N FIPK. On Ebay, you can get them for about 40 dollars. It is the same thing, and none too critical to performance. Also, do not pay $200 for the nice shiny arm that some companies put out. Plenty of Ebay sellers have the SAME thing for under $50 shipped, a lot of times they come with a filter too.

I know I'm a noob here and probably don't have much say. But how about adding those '99 lifters to the list. If youre going to be pushing more power and holding higher revs you might want lifters that actually flow oil =). And how about rasing the compression ratio a bit. maybe using a Thinner headgasket or shaving the head down.

Not To be harsh..Do the job yourself. Simply put these cars will be a drain on your wallet. My car has my PIN # for my ATM Card..
Owning a 3000GT can be very rewarding, it also can be very frustrating if your not willing to turn a wrench..lol, and even then.
This website (3si) has been a HUGE help to me. 3sx, while also a great site and also has a great selection can be very overpriced with some parts. Supply and Demand, and with some parts for example Transmission.. parts are no longer manufactured. If you really love your car, be patient dont be afraid to ask for help and when looking for parts...really look.
Good Luck
If you happen to live near the Philadelphia area I usually have plenty of time to kill, let me know.

anybody tried the Jet Performance V-force plus unit that Summitracing sells for our cars? i looks very appealing price wise, but does it work as good as some of the other units out there, or is this thing a joke?
