Perhaps an overlooked issue in ya'lls argument is modern day electronic fuel injected (fuel managed) vehicles vs ole school carb non-fuel injected vehicles. In short there is some slight benefit mentioned of backpressure in a non-EFI vehicle, but even then it must be balanced as everything else in life must be. Read those links above to see what I'm talking about.

very nice yogurt, I'm in the process of gettin back into these cars. I was also thinking, maybe add a section to the n/a upgrade bible for simple stuff to remove for weight reduction? maybe also get weights of everything you can remove. I'm pretty sure someone on the board has something in excell that has weight of lots of parts on these cars. just an option, good luck to anyone going the n/a route. Mike

So, after all of these modifications, what's your 0-60 time? I'm all about quick cars - makes driving fun That said, what's the most cost effective way to make my car QUICKER? (Without putting a turbo on it and in response, blowing the engine up before its time)

i ran a 14.0 at 101 with some of the above mods, with a 75 dry shot.

you want to drive a fast 4000lb car, youre nuts.
get a twin turbo.
its fun.

Well, not exactly true... the stock car I'm driving now is definitely one of the quicker cars I've been in, even naturally aspirated. At least for the first two gears anyways. And, the VR4 is one of the quickest production cars.

since when did the NA.. or TT for that matter.. weigh 4000lbs?!

My car weighs 3200 lbs without me in it and no lightwieght mods (non-rotating mass at least) except for the hood and ABS delete. I also had a aftermarket radio, carputer, and laptop in at the time.
