No. When people say this they are refering to using a TT ecu w/ a tt conversion. Use of a TT ecu in a tt conversion will keep ignition timing down and therefore allow the car to run more boost without predet.

Thanks Andrew, that clears it up for me. I thought I had read on another thread where someone was doing this. I won`t attempt it till I turbo my NA!

I stopped reading when I finished page 15. Somewhere in there I think a UDP manufacturer made one with dampening...my '94 has 237K on it. Lobsterboy talked about it a lot, but I got tired reading some of the drival and may have missed it. I don't race it, but occasionally exercise it. Should I be concerned at all about the harmonics or wait for a shift in the temporal fabric and trust in the force?
Thanks for the thread Yo. Great job.

so how much is it possible to throw down at the wheels without nos on a DOHC?

is it possible to push around 260?

i'm looking into saving and keeping this car forever, and working mad amounts to finish it, i calculated around 14k to get it all done.

and i'm determined as hell to take this n/a to the recordbooks. because everyone goes for the vr4 or the tt swap.....

where do i go guys, and how much can i throw down?

dampening at such a high mileage is more crucial than ever, seeing as tolerances and such "loosen up" making the harmonics more violent than if the engine were younger. So yes, get a dampened one unless you forfiet the high mileage record for a spun bearing.

Hopefully whoever you get to do it will know what you are talking about. Just tell them a few millimeters out
