The only example I was able to find was some ford engineer dude who said he couldnt keep his bearings tight after 40 years on like a 1945 ford he placed it on.
Actually Im seeing more damage from the balancers failing. Racing examples for those and others where the rubber becomes worn on the balancer and really causes probs. Im thinking these are more critical for larger cranks/engines. Aka more mass = more need for harmonic balancing. hmm interesting. okay finding some on usenet Subject: Re: Is there a down side to underdrive pulleys? >From: "Dante Primm" dante@primm.net >Date: 7/22/00 12:14 AM Eastern Daylight Time >Message-id: > >After reading all the posts below I just had to reply. NO FAILURES. im sold Im glad I got in on the GB for the 3sx. You have 1 hour left or tonight I guess. 190 for belt and pulley if we can get 1 or 2 more.

I apologize in advance for my ignorance about exhaust systems...
Would someone please tell me where I can buy a downpipe for an 3000GT SL and what brand/type you recommend? Do they all eliminate the pre-cat/main cat, etc? This is for a 1994 SL. The flex portion of mine is bad and I'm looking to replace the whole thing I guess back to the CAT (which I have to keep to pass PA emissions). Thanks! Doug

![]() check the banners up top. DNP, 3SX, stillen's etc. Im prob going with one of the above downpipes, a high flow cat and the borla's out back(Ill check out yogurts also). If you want the gory details go look at the group buy section where we flame each other's downpipe buys ![]() Thats almost all you need to know about NA exhaust I think. |

for a frontpipe, go either 3sx or dnp. support your 3si community. high flow cat? na, go with a test pipe. when you need emissions testing done, bolt the cat back up. |

/RANT ON
You guys really should run at least a high flow cat. I mean you cut your emissions by like 100 fold. Yeah I know, who gives a crap about the atmosphere as long as I can get my .1 faster quarter time. I mean how much do you loose, test pipe vs high flow cat? 2-3 horse? And please don't try to tell me our 500 or so 3s tested cars are doing nothing to the atmosphere. What about the 1000's of ricers? OR some rubbish about "well look at that car!!" its doing it worse, please you sound like a child(oh wait here's a good one "well he's doing it why can't i??, whaahh"). It does harm, theres actually a real reason for cat's. Drive by a highway sometime and look at the dead trees that line it. They didnt get that way by themselves. How about you put your test pipe on at the track that way your not killing yourself, your family and me while waiting in the drive thru at taco friggin bell or the 100 stoplight while going to the goddamn mall. This planets full of enough crap and stupid people, put a high flow cat on and help it out a little. Yes even if just a little. Don't dump your damn oil down into your own water supply either. Next thing people wonder is "HMM I wonder how I got cancer?". "howd i get this brain tumor?". end rant |
