Anyone actually done this? I took my cruise cable out today and was looking at it. To me it looks WAY too long and its going to have to do some little loop in order for it to work.

Any success from anyone?

You use the stock throttle cable (with the plenum bracket attached to it), not the cruise cable.
Look at the first pic I posted, with it installed.

did you already hook it up to the gas pedal?
Just move it so it's in a position where it reaches the plenum.

since Race MeTT isnt gonna post it, I might as well- here's our AIM conversation...
BligaBla (RaceMeTT): welp, you were right i guess, it goes on there
BligaBla: but it has to be as tight as it possibly can to work
BligaBla: it barely makes it
BligaBla: at the very tightest setting i was able to get 13 on the low, and 98 on the high from teh logger
FrickinJackoff (Me): thats it
BligaBla: but even when i cranked the throttle body by hand
FrickinJackoff: perfect
BligaBla: i couldnt get 100

Well I just went out and did it. It ended up working fine if you set the cable bracket on the plenum as tight as it can go, I was able to get the tension needed. It was just barely there, but there none the less and thats all that matters.

The cable does do a little loop near the brake booster, but its sure as hell a lot better looking than one doing a loop around the whole engine bay, and its waaaaay better looking than the cruise box and all those cables.

1 thing that may make it better are some washers where it goes through the firewall because the nuts kinda go into the hole. I didnt put any on but may do it sometime soon, just to make this deal rock solid. I also didnt find the need to put any superglue on the little clip, its pretty thick plastic and should be fine.

I think he's gonna put some of my pics in his first post.

Anyway, it works, good mod Andrew.

Brandon

just follow the step by step instructions above and you'll be fine.
Let me know if you run into any problems (which you wont).

For those that have removed their cruise control, and wanted to get rid of the military looking box thing, I found a way you can reuse your current throttle cable, keeping the plenum bracket. The end result will look something like this, you wont have to buy another cable from a non cruise control Galant/Diamante (can't remember which it is), that loops around the plenum (note there is currently no motor in my car). Since the factory throttle cable has a major curve in it, it should be fairly easy to get the proper position so the cable ends up where it should be.

jee i didn't notice
