Evan,
When I bought the RT/TT it came with a DCC display nothing else. An electrical engineer had owned the car and informed me the car needed the wiring and associated parts... to make it work. So on 6/8/03 I printed the caps lists of the parts needed and proceeded to find a donor car. I finally found a donor car 50 miles away on Oct 28 took the parts out and on the 30th put them in. On Nov 4 conversion #2 was under test mode in 6 hours after taking 80+ pics of the install. There was over an hour wasted looking at 4 years worth of ecu diagrams for the ecu connection during the install. At no point was bench testing even considered. If you're good enough to research the diagrams to connect this. You should just go for it. Already removing 2 sets of parts should give you a big jump in knowing where everything goes. I could hardly see it working perfectly when it's not even installed. JK But you know what I mean! The photo sensor is a necessity and must be connected correctly. The codes are read at the diagnostic port. That's why the two connections to it. The ECU connection does not to apply to many cars because many of the ECU's never were equipped for a climate control connection. I see you even went thru the trouble of pulling the evap sensor. Your car's existing one should plug right into the DCC harness if it doesn't cut the wires and splice into them (96+). Section 55 in the repair manual has the trouble shooting info and codes.Go for it , and Good luck.

Dave..
I got the toy today. everything looked great. thanks for label on every single wire, that looks a lot easier. I might start doing it this Saturday. I think I might need around 10 hrs for it..this is much more complex than change a light bulb =.=" .. |
