Great write-up, this is probably the mod that my car needs the most (but I just can't resist going faster...)

I know you said replacing the foam wasn't a necessity, but does anyone know of a source/option to have that done as well? The previous owner of my car was a pretty big guy, and the drivers seat is (visably) noticeably flatter than the passengers.

most foam shops can cut you pieces to insert... just give them the dimensions and they will do it, or just buy a amount of it and cut it yourself.

nice color, and they fit very well. I like 'em. I'll probably end up doing it in a few years when mine start getting really bad .

Nice writeup. I did it on my old SL, and I'll be doing it on my vr-4 after Christmas. Already got the charcoal carpet. The only tip I have is when doing the driver's seat, make sure the side bolsters aren't squeezed in all the way before removing the seat.

Anyone know what color matches the stock charcoal color the best on leatherseats.com?

i believe it was just charcoal and slate pretty much. give them a call and ask them for my colors... they were just about perfect, and they know what colors they have that match our interiors... all that stuff in in their database.

Thanks man... part of the reason I wrote it was I realized that it's scary to pull off your leather without a good idea of what happens. I was lucky to have them ease my mind, and I'm hoping this will help everyone out
