Default Re: 1G Electronic Boost Data Logging

Did the install and drove around for 5 minutes. CEL did not come yet. I'll do more driving tomorrow, will see.

However, I do not get correct readings if I choose 2.5 or 3 bar sensor. My Autometer gauge shows 8psi. If I choose 3 bar sensor setting, I get 17psi, if I choose 2.5 bar - I get 12psi. This suggests my sensor is 2 bar, which is consistent with the reply I've got from Autometer tech support. Unfortunately, my hybrid logger does not have 2 bar setting. I've contacted Chris already about this. I hope he'll be able to help me out.

Thanks

FWIW, I've got the full sweep autometer fp gauge and I'm using the 3bar setting.

I went back and checked my earlier math. With engine off you were reporting 2.2V which is approximately 112 ADC counts.

2.5 BAR
BAR = (ADC * 0.0098039) +.1
PSI = (ADC * 0.142193511) - 13.0534

2.0 BAR
BAR = (ADC * 0.0078431) +.1
PSI = (ADC * 0.113755059) - 13.0534

2.5 bar sensor would put you about 5700' below sea level and the 2 bar would put you about 500' above sea level. So either your car was in a mile deep mine or you are at ~500' elevation (or you live closer to sea level and the weather was really awful!)

Clint,
I am above see level So I guess it's 2 bar for me.

Steve,
I think you are using different Autometer gauge. Mine is vacuum/boost w/ max boost of 15psi. I think yours has max boost of 30psi, right? I've contacted Autometer and they confirmed I have 2 bar sensor.

Well, I guess I'll have to wait for Shiver to include 2 bar sensor.

Thanks guys,
Sergey

PS. No CEL so far. Resistor has been removed.

Pittsbug, PA Elevation - 750'

Add a few clouds and your MAP sensor is spot on.

Great info about the CEL. I didn't know if people that had removed EGR could get away with using the EGRT input for boost logging without tripping a CEL.

Yep, 30 psi boost max.

where???

that is a machanical guage - autometer must also make a electronic boost guage - that is what clint is talking about.

okay, from the looks of it this was going to be a simple trick. I have a Greddy guage MAP sensor right neer the EGRT plug.
so three wires from MAP sensor (red, black, and white) I chose white and wired it to the light green with black stripe EGRT wire. configed the MMCd for 3 bar but I get a constant 113 from the BOST line.
what did I do wrong?
