Default Re: TEC front strut bar review

Wow, it is unfortunate you had problems with the T.E.C. bar. Mine fit perfectly.

Ive only seen 1 in person, and have removed it and replaced it to service the car. It also fit perfect and it's the best bar for the 3s ive come across.

You might want to take some unibody measurements on your car

Well, if it is just his car and not the TEC bar in general then I may have made a rash decision. Though the prices of the two are close so I don't feel to bad.

Most of the cheap eBay ones that look good are just that. Something that looks good and wont help much.

Now where as my strut bar set up does help a lot and has noticabley helped my cars handling characteristics, my upgraded sway bars did a lot more.

Unless you want something just for show from all I've heard only the TEC and Carbing front strut bars really work. For rear we have more options.

There is a thread by supercar engineering that helps to explain the differences in strut bars.

Not sure, I just tried doing a search and couldn't easily find it, I'm sorry.

I've done a lot of AutoXing, on my stock suspension, intrax spring, intrax and sway, new OEM struts intrax and sway, etc. Pushing the car with different set ups made the suspension changes very noticeable. But on regular daily driving a strut bar wont be as noticeable, but say bars will be. The shear amount of body roll they eliminate is amazing!

I got my rear one from 3SX and my front from someone on the board who ordered it up but never installed it.

They are not the cheapest thing, but for my car, being FWD, they made a world of difference.

P.S. sorry for all the Hyjacking in this thread.
