Thumbs up LM1 WB02 Review

I finally got my car back from www.bostig.com (*GT/Multiades from 3SI) and the LM1 WB02 install was one of the things performed. I picked up the LM1 WB02 from www.eiptuning.com for $329.95 and the RPM wire for $99.

PROS
====
Price
Datalogging capability
Clear display
VERY good tech support with an online forum
Self-calibration
Real run-time capability
Can download 5 0-5V inputs (RPM + 4 others)

CONS
====
BIG (It fits in my center console)
$99 for the RPM converter wire to record RPMS
Only displays AF on unit
No digital display unit for visual

Currently, my LM1 is installed in the center console. A MOTOROLLA 2.5BAR MAP sensor is connected to a vacuum line as you would tap into for a boost gauge. A pressure transducer and a banjo bolt from AUTOMETER was used to tap into the fuel filter. All of this allows me to datalog RPM/AF/MAP (BOOST)/FP.

The WB02 is installed in the rear bank in the DOWNSTREAM 02 position. *THIS* resulted in a CEL. Both precats are gutted but I get a CEL (155/161 02 Heater) after removing the 02 sensor for the WB02 sensor.

I haven't had time to set up all of the conversions so that .9249294V actually means 13PSI (JUST AN EXAMPLE). I will take pics and give more information as I have it.

thats not a bad unit for the price, but not really designed to be a permanent mount in your car, pretty much a tune and go type thing.

'bout time someone made a review on this WB i have one myself (got it from eiptuning for $320 shipped - told them i was a vwvortex forum member ) i welded a new bung onto my stillen so i could still use all of the supplied o2 bungs (i'm a cali spec car)

i hope to have it running this weekend

and innovative's website DOES state that they're coming out with a digital display unit - much smaller than the actual unit itself

I am getting a CEL in the stock rear bank position. Did you purchase the RPM convertor wire?

They sell an analog A/F meter that plugs into the unit and if its a standard A/F gauge, you may be able to pick up a Cyberdyne digital gauge and calibrate it to the LM1.

Is anyone using the RPM converter or any of the input connections on the RPM converter?

I have the RPM converter, but not using it cause my 02 sensor died. Definitely do not drive very far without the box on for the 02 heater. They are not kidding when they say it will die quick without the heater driver working.

sounds sweet.

Got my AEM and it's pretty nice. Still a bunch of peeves with it, but it works for now.

Get a o2 simulator. I should have mine today, and it gets rid of those CEL lights!

I think 25 bucks from www.o2simulator.com, but you can find them on ebay for possibly cheaper. I got a dual output for both my o2's.

BUT, you can probably get away with a resistor in the heater circuit (cheap fix) so that it doesn't think the heater circuit is bad. Since my car is OBDII I'm throwing a bad o2 code because of the precat elims.
