Spyder95 - Palatine IL
|
I had a 1992 SL, purchased with 126K. The engine smoked and the valves ticked a lot. I changed the oil a couple times, using the Wynns engine flush, but the tick and blue smoke would not go away. Then, I learned about AvBlend, and started using a can with each oil change. After a couple more oil changes, the smoking was gone, and the tick only appeared on cold start-up. I now use AvBlend on my Spyder, which also had the ticking when I bought it. It no longer ticks at all. I don't know if it provides extra protection from wear or not, but what I have read seems to make sense. This is the same stuff that is found in small amounts in Z-Max, but this is approved for aircraft engines, and the aviation forums have plenty of praise for it. I buy cans by the dozen now, and use it in my other vehicles as well.
