Default 3sx underdrive pulleys

does anyone have a review of any of the underdrive pulleys that 3sx sells. I am considering purchasing one but I am skeptical of the 8-16hp gains they claim. It's pretty pricy just for a pulley so some feedback would be good.

I bout the lightened pulley and love it. 3SX rocks of course. Felt some gains, but dont expect 20 fwhp its noticable though. I bought mine when my crankshaft pulley snapped and caused all sorts of havoc. I'd prolly wait till then, unless you have your mind set on one.

Oh and btw they aren't expensive when compared to other pulleys. factory pulley is like 250 bucks (or something like that.....sorry its late)

Peace Kevan

i would definitely get one if your doing your timing belt, cause if you pay someone to do your timing belt, they should put it on for free

as for the pulley itself, i felt a difference, not only in power, but the car reved a little quicker, and being an atx, it helped get off the line just a bit quicker too. As for the issue about whether its good for the car or not, i've had it for a year and a half to two years, and it has not given me one problem. My other buddy just put one on his RT/TT and he says he feels a difference as well. Definitely a good product

Thumbs up Re: 3sx underdrive pulleys

i had mine installed 2 weeks ago.the car feels more responsive and you dont lose battery/alternator power the way you would with ud pulley.its a bang 4 the buck.

i had an unorthadox underdrive on my car, it was on there till the motor was replaced, i kind of miss it, i want it back on my car, but when it was on there it would cause my belts to sqweal while the ac was on, but supposedly the ac was overcharged, WHATEVER, i just want to put it back on, but dont want the belts to squeal, anyone ever have that problem?

the only thing i would be aware of is the fact that you alternator and a/c won't be working as hard. If you had a big stereo or a spyder model i would probably shy away from underdrive pulleys. Also keep in mind if you live in a place like i do that is super humid in the summer or if you spend a lot of time stop and go driving or both that your a/c is gonna have a noticable differance. If you spend a lot of time on the highway i doubt you would be able to tell. Since the water pump is seperate and the fans are obviously electric i don't really see any harm in underdrive pulleys i just think you need to be aware of the creature comfort effects.

How is it having the lightened flywheel and lightweight pulley? I know my rpms drop too fast already with the fidanza flywheel so Im not going to do the pulley.

A pulley won't really affect how fast your revs drop lol

I have the standard 3sx light pully. I can hear the belts ALOT more now.

Is this normal?
