Re: 3SX TD05 EVO III full kit
The kit is a good kit from what I have seen. (One on car, one still waiting to go on).
The only complaint I have is that the non-MHI 16G's are an absolute joke of a turbo and should be thrown away if you have the unfortunate luck of ending up with them. They work, but, usually don't even make it 10,000 miles (if you are lucky)- I've been able to get MHI's usually for around 1100 for the pair, brand new, or near 800ish used. So, if you do go this route, I highly recommend spending the extra few bucks on the MHI turbos.
To the OP, this isn't 3SX's fault- it's the shitty Chinese turbo quality- if you spend the money to go TD05 please spend the extra few hundred and get a Mitsu turbo on there. Also, your spun bearing is quite possibly a faulty engine build. I've had a few VERY badly smoking/leaking turbos and never suffered any internal engine damage, even after driving several thousand miles on the damaged turbo.
Also- some food for thought- an MHI small 16G/B16G can support well over 500+AWHP- so- don't think you NEED to have the E316G's. The S16G and B16G can be had for less than $600 for a set and last practically forever.
--The Small 16G is a GREAT turbo and despite the name isn't that small- in my opinion the best turbo you can buy for the money- it out performs the B16G in ALL AREAS unless it's pushed to the ragged edge (60+lbs/min airflow).
Just my .02psi.
How many people are running their E316G's near 80+lbs/min anyhow?
