We have plenty of these sold and very few issues - and one works on Steve's car.
From what we've seen over the years, part of the not-working issues is literally not reading the directions. Not an insult to anyone, just a fact (I install plenty myself w/o reading first - sometimes it backfires on me). The instruction sheet included with the unit gives wiring for connecting to the wires on the MOTOR side of the harness/plug about 4 inches from the motor. The wires on the motor side of that plug and the vehicle side of that plug are not the same, so wire it to the vehicle side colors and, no, it won't work. The other is that people think it will FIX the whole active aero system. If the system is not working properly prior to installing the front simulator, the system will more than likely not work after installing it. If the front air dam and motor is there and the system is not working, you may need to diagnose the rear active spoiler - the rear clips or limit switches may be bad and need replacing. I have put together an installation page on our site to hopefully help alleviate any installation issues. ![]() 3SX Performance - 3000GT / Stealth Front Aero Simulator Installation Hope this helps! Nice write up. It's not that people skip out on the instructions, it's that the instructions skip out on the vehicle side diagram. I'm going to check the wiring out tonight. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
By the way, my AA has been working today.

Changed the wiring today that follows the chart in the link. AA doesn't work at all now. I'm going wire back the original way I had it. Better for it to work some of the time then none of the time.
BTW, here is how it was orginally wired when it was working most of the time.. car --------------harness Black Black Red Red Blue /Green Yellow Green /Red White Black/Blue White The two white wires are connected to the fatter wires in the harness. |

Being that it DOES work, albeit intermittently, I'd go after the limit switches in the rear wing - corroded contacts could easily explain that.
Active Aero Rear Wing Limit Switch (each) - Mitsubishi 3000GT / Dodge Stealth The instructions were originally set up for wiring onto the harness of the front motor because you simply cut the harness off and can do the wiring sitting at a table, rather than standing on your head under the car wiring into the vehicles harness. KISS principle That and they were set up by the mfgr. But the linked complete instructions cover the bases should the motor have previoulsy gone AWOL, of course taking with it the harness.EricB |

Trust me, I would much rather hook it up the way intended, but my car does not have the old front AA motor and connector. I'm sure there are others with the 99 frontend that removed the motor. It was kind of neat to see the wing work when it did. |
