In 97 the compression went from 10:1 to 8.9:1 on the sohc. Still the most boost ive heard that is safe is about 8 psi. I dont see why you shouldnt be able to get more with proper tuning. As for the larger fuel injectors, a vr4 fuel pump would probably be a smart bet to keep them fed right.

There is so much wrong information its ridiculous. The SOHC 3/s was ALWAYS 8.9:1 and ALWAYS has 210cc injectors.
Good luck with the project. Just hope your diff handles it. I killed two last year on NA SOHC power.

also wanted to say when i started doin research for fuel control one of the s/c sohc guys told me the SAFC2 sucked with the sohc, he actually blew an engine with it. Hes running a MAP ecu now and he said it works great. i also went with MAP, it wasnt even hard to get everything running again with the 360s and ive never tuned anything before this. Plus i dont even have my MAS hooked up anymore which opens up a lot of room for the turbo plus i have less intake restriction. it just takes a lil longer to get it tuned because of all the cells and you need a laptop.
