Get 7-9lb wastegate springs and just run lower boost levels. Or you can get lower compression pistons installed, buy the supporting fuel mods, and run regular boost levels. Or, you can lower compression the ghetto way and run double head gaskets. I prefer the last option least of all - if you are going to do something, do it the right way.

Rest assured, people have run TD05 turbos with 10:1 compression. It can be done.

And then there's option #4 (and probably the best): find someone who knows what he's doing. It will cost you, but it will its cheaper than a blown motor/turbos.

run lower boost than TD05 has to offer . meth injection might be a good idea to help reduce knock. dont get in a big hurry and read a lot.

good advice but I would trade turbos or pistons.

No need to get bent outa shape and upset. Like i said you just need to know what your doing.......if you wanna run any moderate levels of boost and make use of the turbos and put them in their efficiency range your going to have to run race gas and a dead on tune. OR you can run low boost (10-12 psi) on 93 octane gas (if you have it) and this should yield decent results.
if you only have 91 then your a little more limited.

You can always yank the timing out a little bit and turn the boost up to get the turbos in their efficiency range but then again timing = power. so lower timing vs higher boost ends up starting to make less power at a certain point so you may not get too far with that.

If i remember correctly there is a company that makes a slightly thicker headgasket that would drop the compression a little bit (9:5:1) which gives you more room. Honestly i dont remember what company but its somthing to look into. Or you can try the double headgasket trick which ive tried on a couple motors (6g72 NOT being one of them) and it has worked with good results. You can try the double composite gaskets and you might get away with it.

yes. if you get 8:1 compression pistons you should easily be able to run 15psi. for the tt guys its one of the first things they do is to crank it up there.

yeah, you are Limited with 10:1 that’s why I was saying TD05’s are over kill but if you put 8:1 pistons in then you can use them to their potential. Then you will have that dam traction issue.

I hope you are mechanically inclined. I did the TT conversion with mostly stock parts and it was a pretty big job. Make sure you take your time and if you are not sure about something search and find the info you need. Do you have a garage to work in?
