Default Weird and a little concerning

On my way to work today I noticed that @ about 3K RPM when I give it a little bit of gas it goes lean and starts to sputter a bit. When I push it on down it will get richer and smooth out but not before a lean run for a few seconds. It didn’t do this before. WTF? I am probably due for spark plugs. Would that cause this problem?

I don't know but coop and I had to rig the fuel pump because of the power wire stud getting broke off. It would seem like it would go lean up top under WOT if that where the case though. I tell you one thing. I am glad I have the wideband because I wouldn't have known it was going lean if I didn't have it. I was able to richen it up a good bit and take care of it (for now). I did have to richen it up a good bit though.

if you have a fuel controller it might be that is the transition point from low to high rpm fuel settings???

Well, have you checked the tire air pressures ha!

I don't know...if the filter is getting clogged, under low fuel pressure, it is not getting enough fuel, hence lean. At WOT, there is much more pressure allowing fuel to get thru the filter allowing it to run rich. What about your pressure regulator? I have learned a long time ago, there is nothing logical about our cars ha! I just do not see what spark plugs would have to do with it though?

Regardless, you still have a problem being your band-aid was enriching the mixture which normally you would not have to do. I agree, the A/F mixture guage is a engine savior, in so much as oil pressure and EGT!!!

Yeah it is probably off some but the thing is this has just kind of popped up. It seemed to be fine until a couple of days ago. If you have some pointers on setting them or a real good thread please post it up because I am a noob at tuning.

well if the spark plugs weren't burning the gas correctly I was thinking that it could fool the wideband because of unburnt fuel instead of a lot of spent fuel gasses. I hope that makes sense. I'm really not sure how the O2 reads the exhaust.

mine does the same thing and its more obvious when the weather starts to change. on a day that its hot all day its very slight but at night when its cool its a very noticible transition.

What type of AFC do you have?

I have a neo so i can put like 16 settings for both high and low so I can fine tune a bit but i am tired of it so iam getting a AEM EMS

It's a SAFC 1. I had to move it up about 10%.

Well it is getting worse does anybody have any idea why my car is getting leaner and leaner at low throttle around 3K RPMs?
