hi cyote
before you buy a larger c/s pulley you had better check the space as there is not much room with the other parts on the motor there , its easier to go for a smaller s/c pulley , my original system got about 5/6 psi on a four rib belt [with maybe a bit of slip, but it still did 5/6 psi ] and it looks smaller than the pulley you got on your s/c now more ribs is better, but l doubt you will get a bigger c/s pulley in without changing other stuff which may be difficult
as for the egt that's exhaust gas temperature with a gauge and sensor that fits after the exhaust joins after the outlet from each bank [unless you fit two, one for each side of the motor ] it will mean you can monitor exhaust temperature and you can get some norms and then you will see if the temp starts to go high [running lean perhaps ] and then check things out, it should give you a safety monitor , all the time when i run my car i monitor air/fuel egt oil temp water temp oil pres to hopefully catch any problems
good luck jerry
On my pulley i was looking to just keep 4 rib and run 7 psi or at 9 psi at sea level but 7 psi should be good. But what about a Bypass valve??and is there anything i should do the next time i pull my supercharger??
Looking at already doing
1. putting bypass valve on
2. 99 lifters
3. fixing boost leaks
4. deleting the noise reducer on the supercharger
5. throwing on plenum space and tb spacer
6. new plugs and wires
Hi Coyote
The bypass would let any build up of air pressure exit either into air or back into the inlet after the supercharger when it is off boost and the system should run smoother and quieter, new superchargers often come with a bypass valve, so worth considering.
Jerry
1. sealed the supercharger 1000%
2. Put 99 lifters in
3. installed new air filter
4. plugged silence ports on supercharger
5. put some msd 8.5 mm plug wires in
6. put in new iritium plugs
7. installed a overdriven aluminum crankshaft pulley!!!!!
im going to be starting here up soon so lmk what you think of pics i took last night.. and lmk if i should keep of take off the matrix sticker on plenum
I would have thought up to 5/6 psi, but it should be simple to t into the inlet a boost gauge and then run the pipe into the car as a temporary measure, even if you don,t fit it into the dash. The guys I work with did this on a jaguar xjs when they fitted a supercharged motor, just to see what boost it was giving.
My crankshaft pulley is just under 6 inches so yours seems a bit small you will only be spinning the s/c at a ratio of 1.87 times crank speed mines running at 2:2 times and may go higher, I was spinning my eaton at 2.5 times and it gave 12.5 psi, intercooled with water injection.
Good luck Jerry
