Ok well the car is 91 r/t with the tt conversion done to it when I bought... The said it has the vr4 ecu and injectors and fuel pump and intake.... When I bought the car it had spun bearings.... I just got done with the rebuild on the motor and got it running... Starts and idles great after some ajusting of the idle... Took it out for a test drive and the car loads up on fuel and pours black smoke out the exhaust... I can't seem to figure out why it is so rich.... I have checked all the pipeing and everything is tight and double checked all plugs where hooked up and maken good connection... When I pulled the plugs out that were in the car when I bought it they were black... I was wondering if this maybe caused do to no tuning capiblty.. Do I need to get a data logger and a safc befor I can get it right? Any help on this would be greatly apperciated....
Here is a list of what I know is done to the car... Stock internal r/t motor tt setup stock intercooler setup with after market y-pipe and rfl bov.. Stillen down pipe gutted rear cat stock turbo exhaust vr4 ecu vr4 injectors vr4 intake vr4 fuel pump stanless preturbo intakes k&n cone filter |

hmmmm i think the bov could have something to do with that. its located after the maf correct? if so when the bov vents to the atmosphere, the motor will lose air that it has already metered. and you will have an excess amout of fuel. not saying its the complete problem, but it could have something to do with it

yes, but when you let off the gas to switch gears, it will vent, leaving an excess amount of fuel, then you go and floor it again, adding even more fuel.
im not saying that it is your complete problem, and even if it is, a good tune should fix it. with a TT ecu, you should have no trouble tuning it with a safc2. check the vaccum to the fpr, if its not getting any vacum it should be wide open. |

I have not drivin the car... It is a automaticeso it doesn't blowoff well switching gears... I am postive that it is a tt ecu and tt injectors..... The carwas orginally done by IAperformance....
The fuel pressure regulator is hooked up to the vacuum port on the back of the intake.... |

I am not driving or running the car for very long till I figure this out...
So what I am coming up with is that this more then less a tuning problem CORRECT.... If anyone has any ideas on what to check let me know.... |
