Yikes man. I don't know if you should take your car back there, ever.

Hi, wanted to see if there have been any updates about running on one sensor or splitting one to both inputs.

I tried splitting one sensor into 2 inputs a few years back on a 2jz-ge, but that didn't work out. Triggered a CEL. Probably b/c of the issues that lawdogg mentioned, but the ecu also controls closed loop fuel individually between 2 "banks" of 3 cyl ea.

Wasn't sure if the 3/S ECU also did separate closed loop fuel trims for the 2 banks, or if a second sensor is just a redundancy feature in case one goes out.

In electronics, we used directional couplers with tap ports to measure lines with negligible impact on the main signal levels, so the 1 into 2 thing probably isn't going to work out because of voltage splitting.

Most people have been splitting and running 2. I've driven around the block a few times with just the one hooked up and haven't thrown one yet. I'm going to start driving it regularly this coming week, so I guess I'll see then.

I'm using my NA harness, which only has one O2 sensor. As well as a '91 TT ECU and I haven't had any problems with it. I do have a CEL that came on about 4 days after I finished the conversion.

I'm betting it's from having no cats and/or no EGR. The car runs fine otherwise.

I've been running just the rear o2 sensor for over a year. I split it so that the ECU would read two signals. It's been running fine in normal driving but when datalogging my o2 signal drops to 0.05 V at idle and also seems slow to respond when going WOT. This could have something to do with splitting the wire which causes a current drop.

I'll most likely be hooking up a front o2 sensor to compliment the rear. Who knows, maybe my rear o2 is just going bad and it has nothing to do with the wiring.
