you CAN however buy a set of VR4 exhaust manifolds (aftermarket ones off ebay) and cut the header flanges off and weld on SOHC flanges. im not sure if the port spacing is the same as the DOHC ones but should be similar judging by pics of the flanges for each. then all you'd have to do is custom do some oil feed and return and HOPEFULLY everything would fit If i had a job doing custom fab shit like this all day id do it just to see if it everything would fit with minimal modification |

A TT SOHC is a good idea. as long as you have the patience and $$$, it can be done. just make sure the turbos aren't huge. you defintely will need a new engine management sys. bigger fuel pump, inj. ,oil feed line, custom manifolds, correct size intercooler and piping. just make sure you take it slow and research the parts. i want to do the same thing after i'm out of school and making some green. good luck with the build.

One of the companys here on the board attempted a TT SOHC using alot of stock parts and it was deamed to be not feasible.
If you really have your hheart set on a turbo SOHC its better off doing a single turbo and be completely one off.

i thought about TTing my sohc, but then after a lengthy time measuring an talking to another board member, it was concluded that the sparkplugs and wires would be in the ay in the rear as they stick out of he side of the head

anything can be done.... just takes time, money and patience...
The single would probably be a little less work. Might wanna look into the chrysler cars that had the sohc 6g72 in them. i BELIEVE they had a factory crossover pipe from one bank to the other over the transmission. The only issue is that the transmission is on the opposite side in the dodge/chrysler applications. Thats not to say maybe the flanges cant be flipped up side down or cut maybe if its not cast headers or somthing. worth checking into if your serious about it. All you would have to do then is just fab a 2 into 1 with a turbo collector over the trans. |

yea as of right now im researching what would work and what wouldnt as far as parts. so far its been pretty sad but i have not given up. right now i wanna do a tt swap prob with something like 20g or similar i know there is a thread with a SOHC single turbo and he wants to use the evo turbo which a good idea. but im a little confused as to the difference between a 20g and the evo turbo? for a SOHC it shouldnt be that much of a difference due to traction problems right?
