Hi guys. I have a 91 Dodge Stealth Base. 3.0L N/A. 119,000 miles and only the oil and oil filter have been changed. I want to convert it to a gen 2 style car. Money and time are no problem. I don't plan on it being done soon. I was wondering if i should try to beef up the SOHC or do a DOHC swap. I'd like to try to keep the SOHC but if everyone thinks it will be too much of a problem then I'll do the swap. I'm going to have a body shop do the gen 2 headlight and support swap. I'm going to try and do everything else. I realize that i'm going to be spending ungodly amounts of money but I like the style and look of these cars. I don't plan on getting rid of it. I'd like to post pics and updates for all of you. I'm looking at the '99 conversion kit but what i really want is to focus on the performance aspect. Superchargers and turbos are always possibilities. Just wondering what all is available to me. Also, will all of these parts be available at 3sx? Thanks in advance for everything guys, i hope to make this car look and perform great but i'm a little out of the loop as to where to find everything.

well the easiest route will be to buy a 6g72 dohc NA motor at a junkyard, rebuild it, and do a TT conversion on it. your lookin at 200+ more whp than a sohc motor.
you cn also turbo the sohc, but this will require custom fabrication of the manifolds, as well as time and patience for the tuning. SCs are hard to do on our cars reliably, id stay away from that feild personally, but if thats the way you want to go look up a ember named casperlynn, he has one of 3 relialy running sc kits on our cars that i know of, whitenoise3kgt is another.

dude by the time you swap the engine, and do the body conversion, you can probably buy two VR-4's or TT's with the money you will end up spending.

i did my body conversion on my sohc for 500$ but i went from a first gen base to first gen vr4 front end, to first gen r/t front and rear end. both conversions together were about 800$ you just have to look for the parts |

If money is really no problem... go buy a 99 VR-4 as your DD and go nuts on a Supra.
If money and time is really no problem and you don't get angry easily... go buy a 99 VR-4 as your DD and go nuts on an FD RX7 ![]()

Start looking around for front clip of a vr4/TT and start from there. I've always hear of people getting clips for 600-900 dollors. Have fun and good luck |

Its a good idea too! Watch the local junkyard and craigslist like a hawk and look for steals. It's alittle harder to get a fantastic deal on the classifieds here on 3si because... well, we know about these cars so most know what everything is worth. Here is by far easier finding a part that CL or the junkyard though. Good luck |
