Default NA ECU w\ Piggys

Has anyone succesfully used an NA ECU w\ piggy backs (fuel and timing) to properly tune a 10:1 TT. Since I am having trouble w\ my 97 ECU in a 96 harness, I may just revert back to my NA ECU which I know works for a fact w\ my harness and just use piggybacks such as a MAP ECU or an SAFC + Apexi or some other ITC (ignition timing controler). Any sugestions

S-AFC II is your only option, unless you want to go GM MAF-T and/or F-con, like the HKS. Just find someone in here that's selling a 1G TT ECU.

What about eManage?

If choose not to go eManage, I know I can always use the SAFC II for fuel correction, but are there any other piggybacks for timing. My choices are:

*eManage
*SAFC + timing controler
*Get my 97 ECU working!!

MapECU2 is a good option aswell. It supports Fuel and Timing control, O2 adjust so you can tune in closed loop and Boost Control. The soon to be released firmware update also supports Knock control using a GM knock sensor and module.

I just talked to a guy at Swift Motorsports last week about my tt conversion. I have a vortech FMU but apparently it doesent matter. he said that bare min. i will need a Greddy E-Manage Ultimate to tune the fule, and timing. I looked into it and 3sx has them for $100 below list. $580 or so for the whole unit. For a highschool student like me this is a lot but at the same time new internals cost more so i would recomend saving up for a E-Manage Ultimate. According to him it can tune fule at different rpms and do a lot to really help you car run great and be more efficent. I dont know if this helps at all because you've probably already looked at the E-Manage Ultimate but it sounds like a good choice from what i've been told.

I'm not trying to take the thread from you but I have a question. I have a 92 sl and was going to use a 1st gen tt ecu and harness but when I looked at the harness that I was going to use is a piece of shit there is a lot of cut wired and it just won't work (missing the resistor pack, and the rear injector harness) so now I want to use my n/a harness with the ecu and I will also be using a apexi afc II, a aem wideband, aem tru-boost, and a emanage blue. Would I be able to make this set up work? Would my harness plug into the 1st gen ecu? And would I be able to get away without using a resistor pack? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

You have to read. Your harness will plug into the ecu. You will need to wire in resistors, and an extra o2 sensor. Go to the tt conversion link thread at the top and go to the link for hooking up a 1g tt ecu to a 1 or 2g NA harness.

i went to bobthegreat.com and found out how to do the resistor pack. would this ones work? and i will need the resistors and the extra o2 to make everything work right? or is there something else that would need.

i know im asking the samething again but i just want to make sure im doing everything right.

So I can use my na ecu and use a S-AFC and get it to run decently well?

And it looks like those resistors are the one Bob the great used. Just make sure they are non-inductive. (whatever that means)
