well today was supposed to be the day that i started it... until i started adding oil and found that oil is leaking out where my drain plug is. i switched it for the drainplug in my na motor and same thing. So there goes $35 in oil. then the ebay downpipe that i got doesnt fit. The same one that i saw fitting perfectly on marcs car. Im assuming its maybe because the jdm engines have a different rear 02 housing since it doesnt have the precat but im not sure.

On the ebay downpipe the bolt holes in the flanges need to be modified to fit. A cutting wheel or dremel should be able to take care of that. And I guess get yourself a new oil pan bolt. Future refrence drain the oil in a CLEAN pan and you can just put it back in after replacing the drain bolt.

jdm of miami, they dropped a bolt in the motor though and are ignoring my emails because i think they should be responsible for the labor and gaskets that went into taking the heads off to get the bolt out. so overall i wouldnt reccomend them.

well i went and got a new drain plug with a gasket, and then also put teflon tape on it and installed it all, poured oil in and its pouring right back out... this time i was prepared though with an empty jug with a funnel underneath, but as i went to take the drain plug out to make it drain faster, it fell right into the center of the funnel and all the oil overflowed onto the ground anyways... Then i wiped up all the oil around the drain plug and noticed a little tiny hole right above the drain plug. WTF. so i filled the whole with rtv and proceeded to put more oil into it. NO LEAKS!! I bolted up the front part of the dp just cause i dont like the exhaust coming out right next to the harness and the oil pressure sensor. I pulled the eci fuse and primed the oil pump. Then it was time to start it for real and it STARTED, and i i see oil spraying everywhere from the bottom of the engine. It was coming from one of the oil cooler lines. So i took it off and realized there was only one washer on it. I went to mitsubishi and they happened to have one left. So I went and bought more oil and tried again. Back to no leaks, and it starts right up. There is some white smoke coming from the exhaust. Other than that seemed to run good. Cant drive it yet because i need someone to help me bleed the clutch and the brakes.

cliffs: it started

that was a pretty entertaining start story. Seriously go get a one man break bleader. YOu can literally do it with one person. Get that bad boy on the road.
