UPDATE 3 - (5/30/07):

This is a little mini update but an important one. I finally finished paying for my custom turbos today so that completes the list of parts that I needed for this EXPENSIVE TT conversion lol. I could have gone a much cheaper route I guess but this is what I believe would give me the most reliable setup that I could possibly have at this time. Ofcourse, I have plenty of other parts that will be bought in the near future such as my KSPORTS, new rotors and hawk pads, braided brake lines all in the next month of two. Then my new rims on July 17th (My 21st B-DAY!!!). My family is putting forth a good portion towards my new rims but I will still need to come up with 7-$800 lol (Good dang thing I work at Discount Tire right now...otherwise I would have to come up with $1300+).....So yes my turbos are paid for...I just need to hope that they get here by weekend of the 8th because that's when I am supposed to do this whole TT conversion....I'll have pics for you guys the day they get here.

If your up to it swap your fuel pump now, but don't hot wire it yet. This can save you troubleshooting later, becaue you know your FP works properly in a stock car.

Buy 2 cans of PB blaster for stuck bolts and stuff--- lube fuel line under the car by the fuel tank the night before you decide to swap the fuel pump. It's a bear if it's not sprayed with PB blaster in most cases. Also the rubber fuel line you see on top of the pump dosen't spin- you must disconnect the line from under the car, then spin off the rubber line.

If you are changing your crank pully or timing belt during your conversion, remove the crank pully before you remove anything else on the car. You may need the breaker bar and crank the car method to get the crank pully off LOL!!! I know I did... Just some things to help ya out--- don't forget these tips---Dee

UPDATE 4 - (6/5/07):

Alright...I am getting anxious and can't wait till Friday the 8th. I found out today that one of the custom turbos is clocked incorrectly so I will need to open it up. Grind off the alignment pin that was so wonderfully put in the wrong spot and reclock it to where I need it to be...no biggie tho..Should only take me about 30 mins.

I also found out that even though I bought a gasket kit, the two Turbo gaskets that go in between the Turbos and the O2 housings were so wonderfully not included. I scrambled for a bit then decided to hit up Rob Beck. Miraculously he had two slightly used ones that I could have. I paid him and he said he'd ship them priority so they would be here by Saturday at the latest. ROB BECK TO THE RESCUE!! LOL.

Next on my list...well I decided that since I had a few extra mins, I would start some of the other modifications that I would need to do so that I could actually complete the install. Today I decided to tackle modifying the rear Turbo IC piping. You all know how the rear turbo IC pipe has a little part at the end that actually sticks inside a 9B to get a seal? Well since I got custom 13T's made I couldn't actually use that part any more and needed to cut it off. I also needed a hi temp silicone coupler in order to mate the stock 1.565" IC piping to the new 2" Outlet of the new turbos. The coupler I bought goes from 1.5" to 2" so it will be a SNUG fit haha. Here are the pics:

Part that needed to be cut off

Gettin Tired Lol j/k

Part Chopped Off and Sanded down

Finished Product

OWNED!! Lol

Well that's about it for tonight. I'll have another update prob tomorrow. Enjoy!!

That coupler is a good idea, I have extra O rings in my tool chest just in case that back turbo decides to get a boost leak.

My advice, invest in a dremel now, it comes in handy with so much of the TT project and anything else you can think of.

Here was my excuse for getting a dremel.

Keep with the updates.

p.s. I'm envious of your 13Ts that is my bext step.

Yea man that dremel looks like a good idea. Don't know if I have the money for one tho haha. Did you put in your new clutch yourself? I think I remember you doing that. I might need some help haha.

UPDATE 5 - (6/6/07):

As I said before there are a few little things that I needed to take care of before I went ahead with the install. The first, which I never really documented, was the "CLICK START" fix. I had to do this because my car would not start all the time on the first try. I had to do that fix because, when I install the TT ECU and wire everything up and try to start it, it it doesn't start I need to know that the click start problem isn't the source.

Next, I had to modify the rear turbo IC piping which was documented above.

Today, I decided to get my DP modified. Well the DP I got was somebody's custom made DP that they no longer needed. It has individual 2" runners off the turbos mated to a 3" collector. Well the DP had originally been part of a welded system and thus was cut in order to ship to me. After examining it, I saw that I needed to 1) Add my WB O2 bung into it and 2) Lengthen it so I could get a proper O2 reading as well as make sure the exhaust is as far away from the cabin as possible. Since I didn't have a lovely VR4 to test fit stuff and make an exhaust, the extension will have to do until I can get everything put on and drive up to Monro on the 11th (hopefully) to get the rest of my exhaust built. Well here are the pics:

DP BEFORE:

-As you can see the part after the two runners connect is very short and that is why I needed to lengthen it

DP AFTER 1:

DP AFTER 2:

DP AFTER 3:

Well there you are. As you can see I wetsanded the DP a bit to get off some of the surface rust and dirt that had been cakes on to it. The new added length will allow me to have accurate WB-O2 readings and get the exhaust as far back as I can. If you remember the 30 degree mandrel bend that I have from the first post as well as the Turbo Muffler, I will be adding them on Monday.
