Sorry if this is back in the thread somewhere, but what made you decide to go with the Getrag? Taller gears, or strength?

Yea, if you are looking at med school, its going to be quite pricey and a lot of time; which one are you planning on going to? Im going to med school as well after undergrad--if i can get in
But on the bright side, im sure you'll be more than happy with the power you're going to be making Alec. Good luck wih the build....i want to see a video of that turbo whining! |

Sup guys. The last real big part I have to order is a new clutch and this car COULD be up and running by this time next month. WOOOT!! The place doing it is a new shop called PIEDMONT CUSTOM MOTORSPORTS and it is fantastic.
![]() It is located in the RDU area off of Capital. They are building my car right now w/ Custom Single turbo kit and a full engine and Getrag transmission rebuild. They can do anything from building custom turbo kits to major engine and drivetrain repairs. Their website is: Piedmont Custom Motorsports :: Raleigh, NC :: #1 Stop for quality Ford, Chevy, Honda and more. ,or you can hit them up by phone at (919) 790-8021. Even though I'm not getting paid for it, I'm doing this little shout out for them because I'm am just that happy about their service and I can't wait till my car is on the road again. They are looking to use my car as a template to come out with an all-in-one single turbo kit package where you have everything you need including fuel and engine management needs. It is gonna be pretty sweet. |

Good deal. I'll give them a call when I start on the VR4. Hopefully they can help the platform with R&D, plus give us some realistic prices on kits.

Alec,
Thanks for the shoutout! Here are a couple pictures of some of your parts: The T-70 is on the right side, beside a supercharger ![]() And here's a picture of our Engine Clean-room. Most of your parts are on the bottom two shelves. Still in the middle of getting things organized at the new location. Hope I can get some pictures of your GT up soon, as well as some Engine Build progress pictures before long. |
