John, why did you opt to get new gears? Preventative maintenance or what?
Better gas mileage, didn't know if the tranny had more damage than I thought, plus I had it open, might as well.

No problem with the hijack, umm I hope it working.
Well, everything is put back together for the most part, though I've been looking and am getting some conflicting numbers. What are the torque specs for the end gear nuts?

Hey John, Did you ever get your nuts tightened I tried to find my book the other night but to no avail.

BTW Found my book and it says 102-115 ft.lbs.
Does that sound right from what you have been hearing?

Yup, thanks for looking though. I tend to ask questions in multiple areas on this board on on 3sTech and forget to update each of them once I have the answer.
But no, I haven't tightened them up, damn work. haha, though I'm planning to do some wrenching after work tomorrow, wont be on Thursday (V day) Friday oh yeah wrench time. Saturday I'm helping a friend install his new carbon fiber hood on his E36 M3. I'm really close, so as long as I don't hit any walls I will be turning her over this weekend.

things that make you say, )^@#%^@&%$&)@$^*_#%&^#%^@_^$*(%#_^#_^(_^@$_$^
Though the crazy thing, I think this is the first time I've ever broken anything with my special tool. And it has done brakes, oil return lines, and sway bars. Not to mention the many times it is brought out for that stuck bolt.
I went to the source and asked them man who makes the gears. Jon with Team RIP Engineering has been very helpful from the very beginning of all my tranny problems.
I sent him an e-mail detailing what happened along with some pictures, here was his response.

You could always chip the other side of you are concerned ;-p
