Default If I'm using a SAFC ll do I even need to use a TT ECU?

I have 13Gs for my conversion and have a SAFC ll. If I use that to control the mixture, do I even need to change out to a TT ECU or would it be just as good using the NA ECU?

I would recomend doing both safcII and tt ecu. The tt ecu just gives a better base tune.

100% agree with the above statement! The TT ECU is so close to the right tune but not close enough. I had to lean out the low throttle and richen the high throttle settings. If you want to keep that engine healthy and avoid headaches use one. Fuel maps are just different for the n/a ECU. I know you would like to save money and get coilovers but I wouldn’t skimp on this part.

btw make sure to open it up and inspect for leaking caps

Not a money thing, I already have the ECU and coilovers off of the parts car I was just wondering.

At first I was looking at getting a 2nd gen harness and ecu instead of the 1st gen ECU and using my 94 NA Harness.

In short, you dont NEED a tt ecu but i would recommend one. It has better fuel maps for high throttle settings on your safc.

I have used an na ecu with a safc and a tt ecu with an safc. You can do either. My experience is that with the n/a ecu, the low throttle settings are very easy to get perfect but the high throttle settings is where it is a little tricky. I actually had to add fuel (and i have 525cc injectors) and then when i started making real power i couldnt add enough fuel.

With my tt ecu and safc, My high throttle settings are wonderful. I have to take away a good amount of fuel (like i should have to with bigger injectors) and i still have a ton left if i turn up the boost. But for some reason at idle i need to add all the fuel (50%) i can just to be at 15 afr. THen when i am cruising i am adding a little bit of fuel which is weird because i should be removing alot because of my injector size. But I have it set where it runs perfect but the way that it is set is just a little different than would be expected.

If you are looking to make over 350 whp then get the tt ecu for sure. My n/a ecu was fine up to that point, but once i started making more than that, i couldnt add enough fuel.

Either way you will have to mess with settings to get everything perfect. If you have a wideband it will help Tremendously.

Did you really? I have to lean out my high settings (like -25%) and i am at the 400whp mark. And i have to richen up my low throttle. I have 525cc injectors by the way. What are yours? 360's?

To the OP, what injectors do you plan to run with the 13g's.
