DG91PWTT is an unknown quantity at this point
Default have a 91 TT AWD and just Bought a 91 NA R/T for a conversion...insite please.

Hi first of all I have had my share of work experience with these cars of my Own and When i worked for Dodge..... a few Years back LOL
Now I know I will be ask why am I doing this conversion when I already have a TT.. Simple 1. I wanted to rid the AWD drive train I live in the South and 2. this N/A car is just much nicer over all. not that mine is Junk because it is not...and 3, the TT had a internal failure due to Moron whom rebuilt the Engine to put it Softl was incompetent doing so.

1.Also the Short Block as well as Crank of the N/A is the same? other than Pistons and Oiling ciruitry?

2.My main Question is the Wiring harness I have sifted through the theads and Have found nice info...But let me ask this.....
Do I need the Fuse Block Harness? the only diff is the VR4 Wing circuit?
I have seen that I can convert the the N/A but sounds Better to swap it out with the ECU and its wiring Harness in the engine Bay?
The other thing I saw is you can eliminate most of that Vacumn Hose nest in the engine compartment ....But I assume it wont pass emissions correct that is Probably Duh LOL?

when I am Done the other will be sold...

Anything else that might be helpful I am all ears...
thank you for Now Phil

Again thank you

I wanted to rid the AWD drive train I live in the South What does living in the south have to do with not being AWD? and 2. this N/A car is just much nicer over all. not that mine is Junk because it is not...and 3, the TT had a internal failure due to Moron whom rebuilt the Engine to put it Softl was incompetent doing so. What exactly is wrong with this motor?

1.Also the Short Block as well as Crank of the N/A is the same? other than Pistons and Oiling ciruitry?

Correct, pistons are different, NA engine does not have oil squirters, 2nd gen NA motors are not four bolt, but do have forged cranks

2.My main Question is the Wiring harness I have sifted through the theads and Have found nice info...But let me ask this.....
Do I need the Fuse Block Harness? If the engine wiring harnesss are from the same year, they will plug into the body harness, no fuse box needed (at least im 100% sure of this for 1st gen cars the only diff is the VR4 Wing circuit?
I have seen that I can convert the the N/A but sounds Better to swap it out with the ECU and its wiring Harness in the engine Bay? It is better to convert to TT engine wiring harness and ECU, yes
The other thing I saw is you can eliminate most of that Vacumn Hose nest in the engine compartment ....But I assume it wont pass emissions correct that is Probably Duh LOL? More than likely you will still be able to pass emissions even without these as long as you are pre-96 although it will be a little tougher, eliminating EGR will make it harder to pass as well.

when I am Done the other will be sold...

Dodge Re: have a 91 TT AWD and just Bought a 91 NA R/T for a conversion...insite please.

Thank you for the replay Barefoot.... Ok first on th comment about in the South what I was refering to was the traction as in Snow... But Iknow in the rain it helps... But My main thing I wanted to eliminate the Transfer case although it is very new replaced By Dodge via Recall back in 2004 But LOL the car has not ran since then either.. ok enough on that.....

The engine problem was a cap Bolt nut on the connecting rod actually loosened the only way that can happen is they, meaning all the Rods were not torqued Properly.....when it was rebuilt from whom I Bought it from down in Florida

the Block is fine I need 1 piston stock bore will need Rings and all gaskets....
the Heads are all machined ready to go I may need thicker Head gaskets or thicker intake gaskets to put it together.. properly... because the heads were shaved about .010 I beleive that is what I was told damage from the Piston comming slaping the Head due to the Rod issue it said to this car is a 1991 TT AWD... Now the condition of the Crank seems to be ok no scars on the journal.....

the photos Below are the Current 91 TT
So I came a across a Another 1991 R/T but this one is N/A but just a really sweet car... So my plan was to TT it with the engine from my Orignal one...
It is A DOCH in this N/A Stealth So all in all Body, Paint Pearl White and interior is much nicer.... 160k on the engine needs a refreshing over haul So since I have 2 complete cars to work with on converting the NA to TT what is the best way to acomplish this Task I did not what to have to transfer anything I did not need....

I hope this explains it better

Photos below are of my car my 91 TTAWD

are you asking about switching the TT motor in your rt/tt to the NA, or doing on a TT conversion on the NA motor with the 10:1 compression?

there's lots of threads on here about that. here's the one that's stickied at the top of this sub-forum:

the TT conversion link thread

your problem is fairly straight-forwards. you will have to make modifications here and there--if only because you're putting the motor from a z16/15 chassis into a z11 chassis.

I was stating that I wanted to put my TT engine in the N/A car As I know the N/A engine is high compression.....
I was just wanting to find out the best way to do it since i have 2 complete cars to work with....

what modifcations need to made to this chassis? or just bolt on modifacations?

Phil

I would start by checking out stealth316.com for the plugs on the ecu to see if you will need to change out the wiring harness or just mod yours.

So... you want to get rid of AWD for FWD because you don't want traction?

...

well among frame modifications...i believe the passenger side SMIC needs a bit of tweaking to fit in a z11 chassis.

ecu's should be the same pin type. the TT ecu will allow you to run higher levels of boost easier.

i'm guessing he wants FWD > AWD because of weight. and if it's not a drag/track car...i don't fault him for that. maTT loves his panda. i love my mean machine.

Dodge Re: have a 91 TT AWD and just Bought a 91 NA R/T for a conversion...insite please.

YOu are exactly right this car is not going to be on the track nor at the drags...and wanted to reduce Weight as well... the 1st Gen cars the Achillies heel was the transfercase they dont hold much fluid and if they start to leak it can be toast before you know it... Dodge Dealership in Newnan GA replaced mine with new one due to a Recall not fullfilled by the Vin Number..
Basically I dont want that Headache Potentionaly
But I love these cars
